Simple Inventory Management System (SIMS)

Features:
1 – 4-Level Security (Root, Admin, HQ and Branch)
SIMS is designed focusing on multiple level of security where only the Root level can manipulate critical fields such as Asset Code, import Master list from Excel file and maintain User profile. Administrator can manipulate data such as Location list, Department list, Model list and General list which will be used for dropdown list in Asset properties. HQ and Branch users can only add/edit assets.
2 – Checker and Maker (Approve/Reject New/Modified asset items)
Changes made in asset items such as add new item or modify existing item must get approval from Administrator or Root user. The Branch or HQ users act as Maker while the pending items need to be verified by Administrator or Root which is the Checker. Pending item is display side-by-side for verification by the Checker.
3 – Check-in/ Check-out Item (lock item opened by another user and release automatically)
When a user opens an asset to edit, the item will be automatically lock (Checked-out) and not available for other user to edit and save until the first user click on other page, log out or save the changes. If the first user leave the asset page for 10 minutes without saving, the items will be unlock automatically (Checked-in) and made available to other user.
4 – Search, Print or Export into Excel File
SIMS has a powerful search engine using SQL view and store proedures. User can print the search results as a report or export to an Excel file.
5 – Dashboard to display summary
The dashboard is a quick place to look for top/newest items and summary of items in the system. Every users can view the items and drilldown the current modify items instantly without using search. The items are sorted by time they are modified.
6 – Search Results Paging
The long search results are well displayed in grid format for easy to export and navigate using ASP.NET paging capability.
7 – MySQL database backend
MySQL is a low cost database management system compare to MS SQL however it is still provide a good performance and easy to manage using web interface software such as phpmyadmin.

What is Simple Inventory Management System?
Simple Inventory Management System (SIMS) is a web application to manage a company or organization assets or inventory systematically and hence saving resources and boost productivity. The system helps Administrators to control the workflow of changes made by branch users thus reducing human errors and violation. This system is still in Beta development version.

FAQ:
Q: What is the main different between HQ user and Branch user?
A: HQ users can add/edit any assets in any Location while Branch users can only add/edit asset which the Location is assigned to him/her.
